We are incredibly fortunate to have an excellent and dedicated volunteer who produces and manages this for us and are emailed out weekly.

afterwards in the Hall

Worship at Woodlands next Sunday 14th April
10.30 am Morning Worship, including Holy Communion led by Rev Moses John

Woodlands Church family news and forthcoming events:

Tuesday 16th April at 7.00 pm in the church: next practice for our ‘new music in worship’ group.
New singers and/or musicians always welcome: just come along. The group will next be helping to
lead worship on Sunday 5th May.

Thursday 18th April, 10.00 am at the home of Neil & Sue Ross: Thursday House Group resumes.

Saturday 20th April at 8.30 am: Men’s breakfast social, in the Middle Hall

Wednesday 24th April at 7.00 pm: Ladies’ Circle meets for “Reflexology and FAB volunteer”.

The lawns at the front of our premises were mowed last week by a small yet heroic team of
volunteers. Thank you to them: if you could help with future mowings, even occasionally, please
speak to Jan Fitzmaurice or Brenda Lawrence.

Dates for your diary
Saturday 13th April, 7.00 pm in the Royal Hall: Three community choirs rehearse at Woodlands
(the Male Voice Choir, the Stray Notes and Rock Choir): all of them – and FIVE more choirs – are
singing at the Harrogate Community Choir Festival 2024. Not to be missed! Tickets from the
Harrogate Theatre Box Office :

Saturday 27th April, 10.00 – 12.00 at Woodlands: Gift Day Coffee Morning. Fundraising for the
work and upkeep of our church. This year it will include some all-age crafts/activities for you to
take part, also the opportunity for some reflection at prayer stations to be set up in the Church.

Sunday 28th April, 6.30 pm at Gracious Street Methodist Church, Knaresborough. Local Preacher’s
Accreditation Service for Kim Moses

Sunday 9th June, 10.30 am at Woodlands: a special service to commemorate the 60th Anniversary
of our present church building, followed by a ‘bring and share’ lunch: more details will follow
nearer the time.

5-7th July District Youth Weekend. Nidd Valley Circuit will be taking part in this exciting weekend
at Carlton Lodge, near Thirsk, YO7 4NJ (axe-throwing is included!). A poster and information have
been circulated by email, and displayed in the Hall. Watch this space for further details: the cost
will be subsidised by Circuit and local churches. For further information/questions please contact Gordon Hay Gracious Street Church

Toast Café – Fridays in Term Time 8.30 – 10.00am

Lunch Club Fridays in Term Time 12.00-1.30pm

Olive trees (Christian Aid at Christmas). Michael & Elizabeth offer their thanks to all who helped Woodlands to provide 8 packs of olive trees for Christians in Bethlehem.

Firstly to those who attend Lunch Club, as the amount raised from September through December was £812.00: this is split 50:50 between Resurrected Bites and Woodlands Church.

Secondly from IDAS (Women’s Refuge) who sent a card thanking everyone for the gifts that were donated at our Gift Day; they are very grateful.

Please remember those members of our congregation who are presently in hospital or unable for whatever reason to join in our services

Around the circuit

1st Saturday of each month, 10.30 am – 12 noon:Bilton Area Methodist Church resume their monthly coffee mornings with tea cakes, bacon and sausage butties and a raffle: all welcome.
On the 4th Saturday of each month,  from 10 am – 12 noon The Bridge Café at Gracious Street will hold a coffee morning. Each month this will support a different charity/good cause so please come and have a drink, cake and a chat.
